Stereotypes were a huge problem during the Gilded Age. There were endless stereotypes that were used against people. Mark twain used characters in the book to show and explain the stereotypes that were used to cause controversy. In the book The adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain challenged the stereotypes of the Gilded Age by Using Pap, Jim, and Huck to represent the stereotypes.
